Chisha no Kian

Chisha no Kian is a tiny little Soba (buckwheat noodle) restaurant in one of the most remote and beautiful areas of Miyama. Set on the banks of the pristine river you can sit on the wooden deck and enjoy the sights and sounds of one of the cleanest rivers in Japan.

The concept

The owners are a retired couple who grow the food they serve nearby with organic methods. They only make a small number of meals per day so reservation in advance is a must. Their reasonably priced set meals consist of Soba noodles with different seasonal vegetables and rice. They also bake cakes and serve Soba tea.
